Advertising Policy

Effective Date: August 2026

Purpose and Scope

This Advertising Policy establishes the publisher-wide principles governing advertising, sponsorship, and promotional activities associated with Scientific Publications and the journals published by the organization.

This policy applies to advertisements displayed on journal websites, publishing platforms, digital publications, and other publisher-controlled channels where applicable. Individual journals may maintain additional advertising requirements according to their subject area and publishing practices.

Editorial Independence

Scientific Publications maintains a clear separation between advertising and editorial decision-making.

Advertising, sponsorship, commercial relationships, Article Processing Charges, and other financial considerations must not influence manuscript acceptance or rejection, peer-review decisions, editorial decisions, reviewer selection, publication priority, or scholarly content.

Editors retain responsibility for editorial decisions independently of advertising and commercial interests.

Acceptance of Advertisements

Scientific Publications may accept advertisements that are relevant to the audiences of its journals and consistent with applicable laws, ethical standards, and this policy.

The publisher reserves the right to reject, remove, or discontinue advertisements that are misleading, inappropriate, unlawful, deceptive, or inconsistent with the scientific and professional character of the publication.

Separation of Advertising and Editorial Content

Advertisements should be clearly distinguishable from editorial and scholarly content.

Advertising must not be presented in a manner that could reasonably lead readers to believe that a commercial message is part of an article, editorial, peer-review decision, or other scholarly content.

Commercial material should not imitate the appearance of peer-reviewed editorial content.

Medical and Health-Related Advertising

Scientific Publications will exercise particular care in relation to advertisements involving medicines, medical devices, diagnostic products, health services, supplements, or other health-related products.

Such advertising should comply with applicable laws, regulations, and recognized standards relevant to the jurisdiction in which the advertisement is presented.

Displaying an advertisement does not constitute endorsement of a product or service by Scientific Publications or any journal published by the organization.

Prohibited or Restricted Advertising

Scientific Publications may refuse advertisements for products, services, organizations, or activities that are unlawful, fraudulent, materially misleading, deceptive, discriminatory, defamatory, abusive, or inconsistent with applicable advertising requirements.

Advertisements that may create significant risks to public health, safety, or scientific integrity may also be rejected.

Scientific Publications may establish additional restrictions for particular journals or subject areas.

Sponsorship and Commercial Relationships

Sponsorship and commercial relationships must not compromise the editorial independence or academic integrity of journals published by Scientific Publications.

Where appropriate, relevant sponsorship arrangements may be disclosed to readers.

Sponsors do not receive control over editorial decisions, peer review, manuscript selection, publication priority, or published scientific conclusions.

Advertising and Article Processing Charges

Advertising activities are independent of the Article Processing Charge system.

Payment of an APC does not create any entitlement to acceptance, favorable peer review, increased editorial priority, or publication.

Similarly, advertising or sponsorship relationships do not provide advertisers or sponsors with influence over the acceptance or publication of manuscripts.

Placement of Advertisements

Advertisements should be placed in locations that preserve a clear distinction between commercial material and editorial content.

Where practicable, advertisements should not be placed in a manner that implies endorsement of a particular article, author, reviewer, editor, or scientific conclusion.

Scientific Publications may determine the placement, format, duration, and removal of advertisements according to operational and editorial considerations.

Advertiser Responsibility

Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, substantiation, and regulatory compliance of claims made in their advertisements.

Acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute scientific, medical, regulatory, or commercial endorsement of the advertised product or service.

Complaints and Removal

Concerns regarding an advertisement may be submitted to Scientific Publications.

The publisher may review complaints and may request modification, suspension, or removal of an advertisement where appropriate.

Scientific Publications reserves the right to remove advertising that subsequently becomes inconsistent with this policy, applicable law, or the standards of the publisher.

Transparency

Scientific Publications supports transparent disclosure of relevant advertising and sponsorship arrangements where necessary to preserve reader understanding and editorial independence.

Advertising revenue, sponsorship, and other commercial activities must not determine the scientific or editorial content of journals.

Policy Review

Scientific Publications may periodically review and update this Advertising Policy to reflect changes in applicable regulations, ethical standards, and scholarly publishing practices.

The current version of this policy will be maintained on the Scientific Publications website.
